Common Questions

Is an online will legally valid?

Yes. A will created online is legally valid in England and Wales provided it is properly signed by the testator and witnessed by two independent witnesses, as required by the Wills Act 1837. Crucially, your witnesses must not be beneficiaries named in your will, or married to or in a civil partnership with a beneficiary — this is the most common mistake people make. Our platform generates the document and provides clear signing instructions.

Do I need a solicitor?

For straightforward estates, no. Our templates are designed to meet the requirements of the Wills Act 1837 and are reviewed by qualified solicitors before publication. If your estate involves trusts, business interests, foreign assets, or complex family arrangements, we recommend seeking professional legal advice.

How long does it take?

Most people complete the guided interview in 15–30 minutes. You can save your progress and return at any time.

What happens after I pay?

You'll receive your will as a PDF by email and it will be stored securely in your account vault. We also provide step-by-step signing instructions.

Can I update my will later?

Yes. You can create a new will at any time. Life changes such as marriage, divorce, or having children can affect your will, so we recommend reviewing it every 3–5 years. We're also working on a codicil feature for minor updates without a full rewrite.
